 कब देखों मेरे राम सनेही, जा बिन दुःख पावे मेरी देहि II

हूँ तेरा पत्थ निहारूं स्वामी,कब रे मिलाहूगे अंतरजामी

जैसे जल बिण मीन तरपे, ऐसे हरी बिन मेरा जिया कलपे

निस दिन हरी बिन नींद न आवे, दरस पियरी राम क्यों सचु पावे 

कहे कबीर अब विलम्ब ना कीजे, अपनों जानी मोहे दरसन दीजे.

kab dekhon mere ram sanehi,

jaa bin dukh paave meri dehi.

hoon tera pathh nihaarun swami,

kab re milahooge antarjaami.

jaise jal binn meen tarape

aise hari binn mera jiya kalapae.

niss din hari binn neend na aawae

daras piyari ram kyoon sachoo paawae.

kahae kabir abb vilamb naa keejae

apno jaani mohae darasan dijae.

my poetic translation

alas when will I see you my Beloved

Without thee I suffer in body

I wait unblinkingly for you to come my dearest

When will you meet me dearest to my soul

Like a fish writhes without water

Without you I suffer thus

Without thee, in peace I do not sleep

Waiting to behold you in my eyes

Says Kabir, do not now stay away

Consider me thine own and reveal thyself to me.

A song of the deepest yearning of the soul for its divine counterpart.
